He has performed recently at Mineral Ridge for a scholarship benefit. In the past, he's performed at YSU for two Penguin Pre-Parties, of which he has had the biggest audience of the entire event's shows, the spring and fall Exam Jams, at the Cleveland Intercontinental Hotel, as well as the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

For his future, Greenamyer said that he still can't see himself with an everyday office job. Rather, he envisions himself as an entertainer, hopefully emceeing shows for cruise ships or in Vegas.

"Exercise science is really my back-up plan. I don't want a 9-to-5 job. It's hard for me to sit in class and learn because I'm always thinking of new tricks," Greenamyer said.

Greenamyer performs sleight of hand, which are tricks performed directly in front of an audience. The tricks use distractions and props, but can be difficult when performing close to the audience.

History on stage

Greenamyer has been practicing magic for 13 years. It all started when he saw a homeless man in California doing magic for money. After that, Greenamyer read books on magic and practiced tricks with his older brother. What started as an interest and a hobby slowly progressed into a full-time job.

Before taking up magic, Greenamyer already knew his way around a deck of cards from his grandmother, who taught him how to "cheat" at cards when he was very young. Counting cards and knowing how to work a shuffle helped him win poker games when he played cards in his dorm.

Greenamyer attended one semester at Thiel College in Greenville, Pa. where he played football. He's set track records at Thiel and YSU.

Greenamyer is booked to perform at the 2008 Homecoming week in the fall and is contemplating entering the YSU's Got Talent at the Spring Fling in April.
