Editor,
This letter is in response to a paid "advertisement" that ran in the Jan. 29th issue of The Jambar. The advertisement I am referring to was run by Bradley R. Smith, founder of the Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust. I am shocked and appalled that you would allow this ad to be run in your paper. YSU is all about diversity and this was nothing short of an anti-Semitic attack on history. I understand this was a paid ad and not the opinion of The Jambar or anyone who represents The Jambar or YSU, but does the paper not have a responsibility to keep the integrity of our campus intact? The Holocaust is a historical fact. This organization is nothing but a cover for anti-Semitism. Running this add is the same as running an add from the KKK or another hate group. I hope this does not set the president for other hate groups to advertise in The Jambar, or will we be seeing skinheads and neo-Nazi recruitment running? I feel that we the readers of your paper are owed an apology for the propaganda that this hate-filled man Bradley R. Smith was allowed to spew on to the pages of your paper. We also need a promise that The Jambar will try to uphold some form of integrity when contemplating who is allowed to advertise in the paper.
