I think that this entire article is one sided. Did anyone check how much alcohol everyone was drinking, or only the football players? It's interesting how the victim "showed up at a party, made an innocent joke, and got beat up." Highly doubtful. I think it is terrible how Gooden and the other football players are getting all of the negative attention through the media and not getting to speak their peace on the entire situation. Fighting is never the answer, but in all fairness, everyone involved should be able to explain their side of the story. If the victim would have thought about the consequences of nagging people about a touchy subject that was elevated through drinking, this issue would have never happened. Kyle needs to learn when to keep comments to himself, I'm sure it was more than an innocent, "harmless" joke. If the other players were not willing to talk, then this article should have never went into print expressing only one side.

I think all who have commented have brought up some interesting points. But the thing that disappoints me is that these four football players, although they had been drinking, didn't consider one of the most important things. They represent the entity of YSU. The entire incident makes YSU look bad in my opinion. In some ways it makes me think that YSU isn't doing a very good job at not only picking players that are good but also people of character to represent their school. At some point these 4 guys should come forward, make a statment, and apologize to the school and the community. Whether it was their fault or not, I think they have a responisibility to do so.
